FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


How do I know Pilates is suitable for me?

Pilates is suitable for you if:

If you have not exercised in a long time & want to start moving again
You would like to improve your health
If you would like to work on something that is preventing you from doing what you love 
You would like to have some fun in a relaxed environment


Where will I start?

We recommend starting with a Back-to-Basics Class or a Beginners Class. This is the perfect starting point if you are new to Pilates. Your Teacher will guide you from there. You can start with Beginners Mat or Reformer. They are both for new clients.


What if I find it too tough or if I am not able?

Pilates is a gentle, low impact workout.
This is why we advise a Basics class or a Beginners class to start with. This is a nice Introduction into the exercises. The Teacher will talk you through everything in the Basics class. They will show you how the machine works and will modify the exercises to your ability. If you feel like you want to start with a 1:1 private Pilates session first we can book this for you. Please do call us if you would like any advice on where to start. 


How often should I do a class?

We recommend 1 class per week consistently. If you attend weekly, you will reap the rewards. We do have clients currently doing 2- 3 classes per week as they are getting so much benefit from the classes.

We have a specialised approach that we have been working on for 10 years. We know what works best for your back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, hip pain and much more.  Out Teacher will guide you through the best movements for your body on that day. We have an expert Team of 10 teachers. Our classes are small, with a maximum of 10, therefore our Teachers can focus on any area you may need to work on. They will have a handover from your Physio on your injury if you have seen a member of our Physio Team or from your screening form. Please feel free to ask your Teachers any questions you may have. I cannot recommend the Louise O’Rourke Physiotherapy outfit highly enough. I was in agony after a trip to France last summer and after two sessions with Maire (physiotherapist) and one with Carolina (physiotherapist) I was almost completely pain-free. They recommended Reformer Pilates and I have been going twice a week ever since and I think all the teachers I have had are amazing. In fact, I don’t know how Louise does it to have such a talented group of teachers and I cannot thank Teresa, Claire, Paul and Ben enough. The classes are great fun with no two classes the same and they care about their students’ individual needs. The studio is not in a convenient location for me but it is SO worth it to make the effort to go because it is SO good. I only started Pilates at the beginning of September and I had never done it before or any classes. From the very first class I was well looked after and made to feel at ease. I now try and go a few times 
a week as I absolutely love it and the teachers are all amazing. I mix it up with mat and reformer and I am seeing a difference in shape, strength and my mind. It’s such a lovely warm environment too and you instantly feel great when you go.

Online Classes:

If you are booking an online class to do at home you will receive a confirmation email from Apiant approximately 30-60 minutes before the class starts. Please check your spam and junk mail if you cannot find it and add it to your contacts. Our classes are live streamed through Zoom. If you cannot make the class live you can still book in and we will send you the recording shortly after the class is finished to do in your own time.
